MSI Deploy Computer Based

Hi Guys

I've created a MSI-package. The package will install on the clients if I deploy it User based.
But when I want it to deploy it Computer based nothing happens.
I did a lot of gupdates but still the msi won't install.

Is it a problem with the package? Or is it the MSI.

Have you turned on MSI logging?

Have you checked the Application Management and MSI Installer entries in Event Viewer?

That's 2 starting points for you.

I did turn on MSI-logging and checked the eventvwr. There are no entries and no log-files.

What does gpresult tell you? Sounds like a policy problem to me.

Also note that if you have enabled MSI logging the logs will be held in c:\windows\temp not the users %TEMP% folder.

If no MSI log and no event viewer entries are being generated for your app then the policy isnt being applied.

Is the computer in the OU the policy is linked to? Does GPRESULT show GPO was applied?

Guys. I found the problem.
It was a wrong setting in the GP-settings in the AD from the company I was making the package for.
There was nothing wrong with the MSI.

Thanks!
