Nokia PC Suite 6.6 cable connection problem

Hello,

got extracted "Nokia PC Suite.msi" , customized that it doesn't need to be launched via exe. Installation was correct without any errors. Installation of cable drivers with DPinst.exe is succesfull, but the problem is that Nokia connection wizard is unable to find the phone (Nokia 9300). Please help ....

Installation of cable drivers with DPinst.exe

How did you achieve this with DPinst.exe.

I have the DPinst.exe in the same directory as .inf files
e.g C:\Program Files\Nokia\DKU-2 Drivers

However, I get the following error message when attempting to install:
"Failed to calculate strong name from nmwcd.cat".

Any chance you could provide the command line that worked for you?

Do you have the *.cat file in the same directory?

Yes, I have a file called nmwcd.cat located in the same directory as DPinst.exe and *.inf files.

Incidently, if I attempt to open this file it tells me it is invalid for use as a security catalog!

I plan to create a custom action once I have the command line figured out.
At the moment I'm trying to use DPInst.exe from the command line but get the following error logged:

I just downloaded the nokia pc suite software. I copied dpinst.exe (version 2.0) to C:\Program Files\Nokia\Connectivity Cable Driver. I run dpinst and the driver is installed correctly.

There is a another set of cable drivers for a DKU-2 cable (Nokia 3210).

It is these drivers I'm trying to configure with DPinst.

Any chance you could give this a try?

I'll download the latest drivers from Nokia and keep trying.

Thanks

I provided the wrong Phone model, its the Nokia 6230 with a DKU-2 cable.

The "Nokia Connectivity Cable DKU-2 Drivers.msi" on the Nokia CD provided appears to be the problem. I downloaded the latest Nokia Connectivity Cable.msi and it is functioning OK with DPInst.exe /S /LM.

I just need to get this going in a custom action now.

Thanks for your help.
