OK so what happened to all the valuable content from AppDeploy?

It sure isn't here on this site, at least not in any format that's remotely useable. The last thing I need is yet another stackexchange/experts-exchange clone.

Where do former AppDeploy readers turn to find useful information about deploying applications?

  • Ok, just one single example. I want deployment tips on Foxit Reader 4...

    On the old AppDeploy.com site:
    Click Package KB
    Click the letter F
Click one of the three links for Foxit Reader, either 2.0, 3.0, or 4.0
Literally three clicks from the home page and I can see everything about this product.

    Now on itninja.com:
    Click Research - Deployment Tips
    Click the letter F
Click a few times looking for Foxit Reader 3.
Click on the entry for Foxit Reader... OOPS, there isn't one.
There's an entry for Foxit-Lector PDF though... Is that the same thing? I guess it's a different language version or something. Unfortunately, there's nothing here that was on the old site.

Is the content somewhere to be found? Maybe. I dunno. It was easy to find before, now it's not. This is not an improvement. - bmercer 12 years ago
  • I'm with you on the software library being hard to navigate, but the search feature works really well.

    Now on itninja.com:
    Search for "foxit"
    Click on the "Software" tab

This is an ongoing complaint,  you are not the first and not the last, but I have so far been able to adjust to the changes.

It is more rounded to cover other problems, not just deploying apps

What information exactly are you looking for? I have been able to find the information I need so far, someone here probably can help you find what you're looking for. If you really only care about finding a new site, I'd like to point out that the only people answering your questions are people that are still here, either because they like site or because they are searching just like you. Anybody who has found something better is gone, just saying.

It's four months later, and there's still no entry for Foxit Reader under the extensive list of software.

If users are expected to use the search engine for everything, what's the point of providing an alphabetical index? And why two separate searches, one of which returns results and the other does not?
