our AD accounts are getting hammered through our wan-facing url.

We have our KACE facing the WAN for outside technicians to access the help desk, but it appears that a bot has discovered the URL and we're dealing with AD accounts being hammered and locked.  What's the best practice for this?
Thanks in advance,

-brady

Use a vpn to allow your techs to get on the network and then go the kbox that way and close the public port for login access

or

have your network team see what address is hammering you and block that network out at the firewall.
