Packaging Sprint Mobile Broadband

Has anyone packaged this software? It already comes in MSI format, but the issue I've run into is that I want to disable "Check for updates once per month". I've changed the Property table ISCHECKFORPRODUCTUPDATES from 1 to 0 but it still goes out and checks for the latest version on the net. Is there any other table I can modify that will disable this feature? I didn't see any keys in the registry that would resolve this either.

Try snapshotting when you change the application setting for the update configuration. Sometimes you'll need to close the application for it to write the changes.

Are you referring to something that captures registry settings or capturing a snapshot with software such as Wise Package Studio?

Yeah, WPS should do the trick.
You could also use Process Monitor to monitor any changes in realtime.

WPS is overkill for that purpose. Besides, if it's not installed on the test w/s, you're nixed. Find a small footprint snapshotter that doesn't require installation i.e. one you can copy wholesale to a new machine and have it just work. I use Ziff-Davis' In Control v5. It's a paid-for d/l from the ZD site which a Google hit finds but it CAN be found for free (which it originally was) if you're persistent. Clue: try searching for InCtrl5.ZIP. It comes with Delphi source code, too!
