Patching - Reboot later
Hello everyone!
I am trying to get a understanding of the Reboot Later patching option. What exactly does that do?
- Reboot Delay displays countdown until the reboot happens.
- Reboot Now...while reboots now.
- Reboot Later - when does it reboot later? Does it utilize one of the prompts and re-prompt in 60 minutes? Does it re-prompt in 120 minutes? Does it re-prompt at all?
Based on ITNinja post below, "no input=yes" which means that "Reboot now = Reboot Later". Say it isn't so, because that means our users will abhor IT if their computer reboots on it's own causing them to lose unsaved data.

Reboot Later will delay the reboot and prompt again to reboot in 60 minutes, you will get 11 of these prompts until it will automatically reboot the computer on the last prompt.
I believe the message changes to "OK" rather than "Reboot Now" / "Reboot Later" on the last prompt.
(Figures in this post are based on screenshot above in question and can be changed)

Thanks for the response chris.poston.
Based the my tests, it confirm what you said.
"Reboot Later = Yes (Reboot Prompt)"
The counter is decreased by 1 and the user will be re-prompted based on the configured re-prompt interval. - egas 7 years ago
