Post Installation task issues

Hi all,

I would like to know is there a way to automatically trigger Kace Post Installation tasks?
Cause at the moment my image installs as intended, however in order to make OS image work 100 percent, I must go to C:\Kace launch the process manually then machine restarts again and only then I'm able to finish up preparation of machine.

Any suggestions would be great!

Hey there , this doesn’t make much sense. Is the image sysprepped and if so how many admin logins were set as part of the imaging process? Is it just needing a restart and login for the post install tasks to continue?

Hi, @Ozhunna

Yes, the system was sysprepped and it has 1 Admin account.

Once the machine boot's up it doesn't continue with the post installation tasks, I then must go to C:\Kace\Engine folder and run the .exe file for the engine in there so it would finish up the tasks.

Then machine restarts the folder deletes itself and machine is ready to be used and connected to domain.

Comments:
  • if an OEM License or ISO is detected , KACE will not proceed with Post Install tasks, the KACE Engine will stop since, OEM Images or Licenses are only for OEM customer (unless you are working with DELL\HP\LENOVO distribution factories).

The rest of companies need to use\purchase VL (Volume Licensed) Media and Keys.

Also see some reasons why the KACE Engine will not return the RUN KEY back to he SDA Appliance:
