putting registration information in an msi
we are using installshield admin studio 5.5 for creating packages. we have some applications that already have msi's and we are using tuner. some of these need to be registered after installation. my job is to put this registration information into the msi, somehow, so that the "please register this app" message does not come up everytime the user runs it.
i need help/tips on how to do this.
one of the applications is visio 2002. any help is appreciated.

Hi gaiacat,
My suggestion would be to do a "snapshot" of JUST the registraion process so you can see what it is, in some cases its just a few registry settings which you could import into your MST, in other cases its new files, reg settings, but whatever it is you could do this snapshot then import whatever is there into your MST. so the process would go:
1. Build clean PC
2. Install Application
3. Run Installshield snapshot
4. Register the application
5. complete snapshot, have a loot at what it does.
6. import whatever it does into your MST.
Hope that makes some sort of sense. Thats just my suggestion, I'm sure others will offer theirs!
