Redirect Loop

From time to time we have undefinable redirect loops for our KACE web gui. We have a standardized hostname for our K1000 (SVRDEKACE01) and a CNAME "kace" which points to this hostname.

Sometime we try to open http://kace/admin only Firefox throws a redirect loop errormessage.

"Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete"

We don´t see any entries in the K1000 logfiles.

Does anybody have the same problem and at the best fixed this error

  • What version are you on? I am on the latest 5.5 and applied the Dec 2 patch (recalled) and ran into this. Support fixed me up. - ddevore 11 years ago
  • yes, we've also installed this latest cumulative patch from Dec. 2. What does the support do, to fix it on your site? - aragorn.2003 11 years ago
  • delete the cname and add a second hostname "kace" that goes to the same ip address - pcooper 11 years ago
  • Alternatively, make sure that the CNAME redirects to the fully qualified domain name. - pcooper 11 years ago

Make sure that the CNAME redirects to the fully qualified domain name of SVRDEKACE01.

Alternatively, delete the CNAME record and create a new host A static record for "kace".
