Regenerating Missing Source Paths?
I have been sent numerous compressed MSI packages that I need to work on (generated with Wise PS). However, I dont not have the original WSIs.
I need to amend some files etc, so need to recompile the MSI's.
I can install the packages or perform an administrative installation to extract the files from the MSI, but when I have replaced the files I need to etc, I cannot recompile the whole package as all the source paths are missing.
Completing the properties for each file browsing to it's source is OK for small packages, but is impractical for anything sizeable. Accepting I cannot get the original WSI's, how can I regenerate the source paths?
I thought compiling an uncompressed MSI (tables only) in the root of an administrative installation used to recompile - but it seems not so.

I'm not 100% sure if this is what you are after, but when you open up a MSI in Wise Installer Editor, you can then select Tools - > MSI to WSI conversion from the Menu bar....
Thanks!
That is exactly it. I knew I must have been over looking something - and it was as simple as that.
