How do you remove an custom Asset Type that does not seem to be able to be deleted?

Deleted all imported information, deleted the Asset Type, reviewed and rebuilt import file in NotePad and with Excel. Imported and imported cleanly. - bstaples 11 years ago

check at first, if there are items connected to that asset type.
You can only delete empty and unreferenced objects.

Deleted all imported information and made certain there were no unreferenced objects as Nico_K recommended, deleted the Asset Type. Then I reviewed and rebuilt import file in NotePad++ making sure that I had no unusual problems with the data, like dangling spaces, or non-printable characters. Then I opened the import file with Excel and checked all my data again saving the file as a CSV. I created the Asset Type again and imported my import CSV file and everything imported like we wanted. Beautiful!
