Repackage of Excel 2007

Hi

I need to repackage Excel 2007 for deployment, dont need the rest of office for this project.

We allready have Outlook 2007 installed from a previous delivery which our company did not package & dont want to remove and redeploy

I have tried the /admin switch to create an update but this refuses to install on the taget systems ststing the /admin switch has already been used and can only be used once!

Really I could do with just repackaging Excel from the Excel.en-us folder but this fails.

Can anyone shed any light on an easy way to solve this?

Thanks
Keith

First, you need to locate the original media such as the DVD. Then run through the setup /admin. MS has lots of documentation on their site for this.
These might help.

Hi

The original media is no longer available, and Outlook 2007 was installed from a stand alone Outlook package so I dont think this would be any use.

I have tried editing the .MSP file from /admin in Office 2007 Enterprise but the only options for install are Outlook

That is why you need the original. Contact your software/licensing vender or even Microsoft and you should be able to get the media.

Thanks

But as I say the original media was Stand alsone Outlook not the full Office package, so having this would not help me install Excel

Ah, well it appears you have answered your question. I doubt you will find anyone here that would happily share their media/license with you.

Well, I think Jeff's (jmaclaurin) reply was pretty clear myself, you don't appear to have either the media or the licence to deploy Excel 2007 in your organisation, so are you expecting something for nothing here ?

Hi Spartacus

As I have said, we DO have the licence & media I can download from Microsoft as we are "Microsoft Select Licence" holders, but this is not what I need as this was Outlook [stand alone] and therefore will not help in what I was trying to do.

I DO have the media for the Office install & again we have a Select Licence agreement..

All I was asking for was the help of someone who had resolved this issue before. The only person who mentioned sharing media or licence was jmaclaurin

I thought these forum's were set up to help people out, share knowledge etc, seems I was wrong

I have since resolved the issues with help from MSDN

Sparticus, if this is the welcome, help, advice that your site offers on a regular basis I would rather an ADMIN just removes my account..

Thanks for all the help people!

If your Original media only includes Outlook, that is all you have and all you are licensed for. You will need to purchase Office Standard or Professional to get more than just Outlook.

I have since resolved the issues with help from MSDNIn the spirit of the forum, it would be helpful to post your findings in a 'Note' in the Office Package KB. See the 'Package KB' link at the top of the main page.Sparticus, if this is the welcome, help, advice that your site offers on a regular basis I would rather an ADMIN just removes my account..Even a casual glance back through Graham's posts will show you that he is a valued and most helpful member of this community.
