SAP Business One

I am in the process of packaging SAP Business One with Fourth Shift Edition (by SoftBrands). It is a dynamic application that installs additional add-ons from the server after doing a comparison between the server and the workstation versions. We can get the base application installed, but cannot correctly package the add-ons, as they want to reinstall.

Does anyone have any experience with packaging or using this application?

Thanks,

Nathan

MrTed,

Install your base package and then run it. Once it hits the server the Addons update program will look for particular keys in the registry to see if the Addons are installed. You can see this in Regmon actually. They will show up as NOT FOUND. Save that regmon file now and keep it for later

If you capture the Addons install process with regmon you will also see the keys it writes to the local machine that tells the server that the Addons are installed already.

Import both into Excel and compare them to find those keys.....so in your spreadsheets your looking for any keys that are created by the install of Addons and in the other one find the NOTFOUND keys that match those installed keys.

Marry them up in your original package and your set.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
