SAP GUI v7.2 Startup Performance
Hi All,
I've recently repackaged SAP's Front End GUI into an MSI and all works well. The application launches as lock down, and everything functions as expected.
Unfortunately the load time for the shortcut takes up to 45 seconds which is pretty poor. This happens every time, not just on first launch.
What I've done:
I've removed any current user keys as they were deemed unnecessary.
Moved the SAPLGPAD.exe component (Main Launch Shortcut) into a CurrentUser feature and made this the parent of Complete. That way on first launch, there will be no repair and the Complete feature's components will not be checked for integrity... should speed up launch!
I've checked for perm issues and there doesn't appear to be any. I've also checked the Package KB and there was an entry about SetReg.exe to speed up performance but this hasn't helped.
I've repackaged this almost identically from the way I did v7.1 and that version didn't have any long launch times. (It did have an initial repair to populate HKCU but that was by design).
Any ideas?
Cheers
