SAS Enterguide 4.1 Dataset issue

Hi,

This is Suma, a new member.

I am packaging SAS Foundation(includes MS rutnime components) & SAS Enterprise Guide(includes SAS private Java runtime).
SAS Foundation is a core SAS app for Enterprise to run.

I am facing problem in SAS Enterprise when i launch New->datasets. It says "it can not create datasets".(SAS foundation MSI installed)
This does create any problem if i install the Enterprise Guide MSI on top of SAS Foundation vendor source.
This error is due to SAS foundation MSI i feel.
Merged the registry keys which the source foundation installs. Still it it not working?

Any other views? Please help me out...

Suma

Since that message evidently comes from the application, maybe they're designed that way. What does the vendor say? I would imagine there would be a knowledge base article about it...

It absolutely works fine with the vendor source.
Without doing any customization after getting ISM i m just building & installing the MSI. It gives me the error.

I would like to repeat the same testing works fine when you install Enterprise MSI on top of foundation source media, but not when you install enterprise MSI on foundation MSI

Repeat? Repeat what? Nowhere in your OP does it say that the install works if installed in one order but doesn't when installed in reverse order.

The obvious next step is to run both install sequences with a verbose log and compare the results. Evidently something is being updated, added or removed in one scenario but not the other.

Let me explain again. Enterprise functionality fails to work only when i install Enterprise MSI/vendor source on top of Foundation MSI.

IF i install Enterprise MSI/source on top of Foundation source it works fine i mean it works as expected(some dialog it should show)

I feel the problem with Foundation not with Enterprise. I captured the foundation source installation using picture taker & merged the HKLM keys, HKCR keys on a machine where Foundation MSI & enterprise MSI is installed. Still the functioanality did not work.

Got an idea? If so pls reply back....

Yes. The obvious next step is to run both install sequences with a verbose log and compare the results. Did I say that already? I can't remember...
