SCCM State Migration Point

Hello,

I'm trying to install SMP role on server that is not a site server. I would like to use SMP for USMT. During installation I get error: Site Component Manager failed to install this component, because the designated Web Site of Internet Information Services is not running or started. I checked the service and is started and running. That server has only Windows Server 2016 installed with IIS Role and it is joined in domain.

Regards, Chrush

The role installer only installs on site servers
Why don't you just add the server to the site and add the state migration point to it?

Comments:
  • Well, there were some mistakes which i made.
    -Some prerequisites werent installed
-SMP server wasn't in correct OU in Active Directory. - chrush 5 years ago
    • Great. So you're on track?
Please note that we did see, from time to time that access rights to the Migration point share disappeared. I then just removed it and set it up again.. - Gmelford 5 years ago
      • Yes, it works now. I installed prerequisites with ConfigMgr Prerequisites Tool and put the server into right organization unit and now it works prefect. - chrush 5 years ago
