Script doesnt realize a label is already selected to deploy to

I've just made a simple script to install some software to a test group. So i selected the devices I wanted and made a manual label as theres no criteria that a smart label would get the right machines.

Under the deploy section in the script detail I select the manual label i created and it will run. But if I come back again to the script and select run now it will say "Select at least one label from the list or one device from drop down". Then if I select "manage Associated Labels" and just click OK, it will then allow me to run now.

I get the same thing with Smart labels.

Is this intentional or just a bug?

  • Are you saving the script when you make the changes? - rockhead44 8 years ago
  • What version is your kbox? Early 6.4 had that bug. It will give that error unless you have a machine selected also. If you run it from the scripts page and just check the box and do a run now from the drop down it will work. They fixed that in the service pack You should be Version: 6.4.120756 - SMal.tmcc 8 years ago
    • Current Version is 6.4.120756

Checking it on the scripts page and selecting "run" from the drop down box works as you said.

Good to know its just a bug and not me being silly. - Ouytree 8 years ago
  • I am on version: 6.4.120756, and I still get that error. This may not be a bug that goes away soon. So I just go used to using that workaround, where you select the script from the main scripts page then choose action and run now. - Soloman007 8 years ago
    • oh crap I forgot, too many brain cells ago. Kace fixed that on the backend for me when I opened a ticket and they are putting that into a future SP release. - SMal.tmcc 8 years ago
      • Eh, no worries, I had to call them to delete a SD custom view that had an apostrophe...so many little bugs who can keep track... - Soloman007 8 years ago
      • I beta tested a couple of versions and you really loose track of if they fixed it in the fly or have to work on it. during beta they connect in and have you test fixes for the next release - SMal.tmcc 8 years ago
