Scripting - Beginner Sticky
Perhaps to defray a lot of the "what is a shell object?" type of questions, we should consider putting a sticky up with some beginner scripting resources. Some of the ones I've recommended to friends starting up with vbscript are:
First Scripting Steps
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/topics/beginner/firststeps.mspx
Sesame Script
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/topics/beginner/firststeps.mspx
I'm sure you guys have a ton of resources. This may already be a sticky elsewhere on the site, I couldn't find it with a quick search. Let me know if you think this would be helpful.

I use this one pretty often: http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/vbscript/index.htm
He has free tutorials for VBScripts of Windows Server 2003 and XP as well as WMI scripts. There are working examples that you can copy, modify, and use. He also recommends "tools" to use here and there but I haven't found them to be any more useful and the tools I already use - he must be getting paid to advertise them or something. Otherwise, the site has been very useful for me.
