Sequencing JRE application (with local JRE present)
Mostly the sequenced JRE application would not work because of local JRE present.
It conflicts with Local JRE.
After a lots of R&D I found a final working solution. So I would like to share with you.
1] Procedure followed for the sequencing of this application :-
- take sequencing machine(JRE(ANY VERSION) locally INSTALLED)
- launch "App-V Sequencer"
- Click "Begin Monitoring"
- during monitoring open "appwiz.cpl" and uninstall JRE (locally installed)
- run the command from cmd "shutdown -r -t 0" to complete uninstallation of JRE (locally installed)
- App-V sequencer captures the restart. Just stop monitoring and start monitoring (to complete restart process) (stop-start monitoring doesnt requires in app-V 4.6 SP1)
- Now install the JRE (which you want to sequence)(during monitoring)
- After completion of intallation create shorcut pointing to "iexplorer.exe"
- Stop monitoring and save the captured sequence.
2] Application has following file associations:
- .jar
- .jnlp
3] With above procedure packge works fine in both user and admin without any conflict with local JRE installed.
