Shortcut problem
I have an MSI . After install, shortcut is not working what might be reason?

Shortcut is not working in the sense the shortcut is not installed or its broken??? check the logs primarily

"is not working" isn't a particularly helpful description of the problem, is it? The folks here are pretty clever but, regrettably, psychic powers are beyond most of us.
- Is this an advertised shortcut?
- is it that the shortcut starts the application but the application fails to load properly? If so, does the application load if started directly, using the EXE?
- does nothing happen when you click the shortcut?

The answer to the above will determine if the problem is your packaging or simply windows trouble shooting.

This might sound stupid and obvious, but can we get a sticky on how to post questions?
Maybe with some examples of what to include in your question. Things like what the application is, what tool you are using, what trouble shooting you have done and the exact problem.
I'm only new but i've already noticed an increase in "this doesn't work. fix it for me" type posts.

Of course, it's not stupid........it's the only solution, I think.
And, if you know Bob has already created a sticky 'Newcomers Read This First!'; I doubt though, how many newcomers read it?
