Transform fails to uninstall
Hi all,
I have created a transform for Lotus Notes Client 6.5 which installs ok, however, when I uninstall, it fails with the following message.
'You are attempting to upgrade a Multi-user installation. Please obtain the correct installation package to complete the upgrade'.
No changes have been made to the transform after the install and you get the same message for change and repair.
Any ideas please

ORIGINAL: WiseUser
Is it installed "per-user" or "per-machine"?
What's the exact registry location of it's "DisplayName" under the following key?
"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\"
What happens if you run the following command line?
msiexec /qb /x <ProductCode>
S-1-5-18\Products\1B4672B6260F184449DF851B2C114C84\InstallProperties
When I run the msiexec command the same happens.
It is installed with admin rights as per-machine, I'll change it and see what happens, I'll let you know tomorrow.
Thanks

Hi Tony:
It seems that Lotus Notes was originally installed on your computer, "Multi-user Install" option was enabled (default is "Single User Install"). Notes that multi-user installation option should only be used on a computer that is being shared by multiple users. At this time, the Uninstallation works only for a single-user Notes 6.x client install, and if the workstation is a multi-user client install, you find that it fails with the errors message as stated by you.
Workaround to this problem:
You should uninstall the multi-user installation, and reinstall as a single-user installation to be able to remove the lotus client, unless your computer is being shared among multiple users each of whom logs into Windows/Novell using a separate account.
I Think the above would resolve the stalemate do let me know if it worked.

Hi Tony:
For uninstalling the MSI browse to the following location
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\<Product Code>, take out the uninstall string and then run the same.
incase the abolve fails try rerunning the setup again and then it should ask you for Repair or remove option. Since this is the only thing that we can suggest right now.
However you I will check the lotus notes MSI at my end and will revert back as I faced the same problem long time back when we were rolling out lotus client however it asks for these options at the very beginning at the time of asking the user name and organisation name there we selected single installation and things were solved. I will check and revert.
