Folks,
I am trying to sequence the SCCM 2007 console up to R3. Here is my setup.

Sequencer - AppV 4.6 SP1 on a WinXP Pro VM that is on the domain.
Logged on with a domain acct with admin rights.
Steps to get R3 installed:

1. install SCCM 2007 SP2
2. apply R3 prereq hotfix KKB977384
3. install SCCM 2007 R3

I can run all these files in my WinXP VM when the AppV sequencer is NOT running. However, when the sequencer is running and I attempt to apply the KB hotfix after successfully installing the Console in step 1 I get this error message:
"This hotfix does not match the installed language version of Configuration Manager 2007"

I get this error whether I try to install all the updates during one monitoring session or whether I sequence just the Console SP2 as a package and then open it up again to apply updates. During the installation phase of the Console I checked the registry and found the keys under HLK\Software\Microsoft\SMS & ConfigMgr were present and matched the keys created during the first run when the sequencer was not running. On my last attempt to sequence I installed the KB's MSI file with the /log switch to see what was going on. According to the output below, the hotfix doesn't see the necessary keys in the registry.

Any ideas on why the hotfix doesn't see the keys during sequencing? I even tried importing the keys into the registry prior to applying the hotfix but got the same result.
