Trusted sites randomly wiping
We are currently going through a major re-immaging effort. Unfortuneatly we at the helpdesk don't have control of the immage. (even though we are apperently expected to troubleshoot issues comming from it). Right now we are seeing an issue where some users who have been reimmaged drop thier trusted sites. There is noting in the GPO's that do anything with trusted sites and we are implementing the trusted sites through registry entries in the immage.
I can duplicate the issue if I go into gpedit User configuration > Windows Settings > Internet Explorer Maintenance > security > Security Zones and Content Ratings and then changing from 'import the current security zones and privacy settings' to 'Do not customize security zones and privacy'. No ammount of gpupdate /force in either setting will cause the issue to happen.
Unfortunately putting the trusted sites in the GPO isn't really an option due to pushback from the people up above us.
We are not really sure what is going on, this is only affecting people who have been reimmaged, but it appears to be releated to group policy. Any ideas?
