trying to update a K1000 server
I have a K1000 server that is still on version 13.1.79 but when I click the "Check for Updates" button, the log says SMA up to date. No updates..
I'd like to get it to Version 14.2 if possible...
Any idea why it won't see the newer versions?

Are you current on your support maintenance?
If so, contact KACE support and provide your serial number from the SMA About page.
Or you can manually download the update. https://support.quest.com/kace-systems-management-appliance/14.1/download-new-releases
The latest version is 4.1.95.

I did a download of 13.2.182 and when I tried to apply it the web page went to unable to connect and I had to close the browser session. When I re-connected to the server it came right up but was still at the old version.

You may want to look at the appliance's console for any messages. The upgrade may have been canceled due to a lack of current backup or another issue. - KevinG 4 months ago
You need to do the updates in sequential steps, so if 14.0 is next, download and apply, give the appliance time to settle, maybe 12 hours, take a fresh back up and then apply the 14.1 update. Allow to settle again, backup and apply 14.2.
Then update the agent to 14.2 and distribute to all endpoints.
This is KACE 1.1 basics for beginners guys…it should have been covered as part of your Quickstart consultancy when you bought the appliance.
