Unable to uninstall VNC with k1

I've been trying to deploy a script to uninstall Uvnc but have been quite unsuccessful.  Any have any tips or sample scripts for this?  We have moved to Bomgar.

  • I don't have a specific script at this point because the many different ways I tried to do this failed. I tried using the /uninstall switch with the installer which seemed to just add a shortcut on the desktop rather than uninstall. and I've tried an uninstall by useing the uninstaller file in c:\programfiles\vnc directory\ but that also failed. - rsm11 11 years ago

For almost any managed Uninstallation I use ORCA and get the MSI ID and just run :

MSIEXEC.EXE /x {MSI UID} /passive /qn

with the 3 checked under it.  I've yet to have any issues with this, as long as you know how to get the MSI UID.

Can you get it to uninstall from the command line on your test system?  If so, try that in the K1000.

It's also possible that you might have to stop any services used and/or the mirror driver in order to uninstall.

  • I will recreate the script that I used and post the syntax as a starting point. It's interesting because if I run the command from CLI on a system it works fine but within a script with the same syntax it fails. - rsm11 11 years ago
  • Have you tried using the uninstall wizard in the scripting module? - Timi 11 years ago
