URGENT: Active Upgrade Question
Toady i did active upgrade & modified some settings in the application
1. launched current app
2. active upgraded with the modifications
3. launched again, but changes are not getting relflected
4. Deleted UsrVol_sftfs_v1.pkg & launch again to see the settings relflected
Deleting UsrVol_sftfs_v1.pkg is not a viable option becuase user will lose the settings he/she performed
My question is if user had done some modification will it get retained after i deleted UsrVol_sftfs_v1.pkg from user profile
is there a way to forcibly updated as part of osd customization so that new settings are applied to the current production sequence
Any help on this would be really helpfull
Thanks in advance for all your help

Answer Summary:
Yeah I teach that problem in class. The registry does not override the user settings PKG file in an ActiveUpgrade scenario if the settings exist in the user PKG. You will have to either encode the OSD to make a registry edit every time the app launches (the way it behaves) or have a pre-launch script that pokes the settings in once on launch. I wish there was a better method but the VFS is the only thing that can supercede the user PKG when the Override flag is set on the file.
