urgent! Toad for DB2
Hello,
I am repackaging Toad for DB2 4.0.x.x. It is a vendor msi.
My msi runs in UI mode but it fails silently. What could be the possible reasons for it. ????
SOLUTION: you have a custom action in the UI sequence that runs when you install in UI mode
make an entry for that CA in the installexecute sequence table for silent installation via an mst
may i know which CA should be added in install execute sequence table??
any help?????????

I have not yet package this application yet but the best advice i could give you is to create a log file in UI mode and silent mode then compare which CA is running in UI mode that is not running in the silent mode

Do your application requires a serial/product key, if yes then include that in your application, can be one of the reason to fail the installation in silent mode.
,comparing log is must as suggested.
Also try to create a Response Transform first and install it.

may i know which CA should be added in install execute sequence tableIt's easy enough to compare the two tables. If need be, you can make a copy of the MSI and load both into Orca/InstEdit.
