Thanks for your replies . I got the winzip working. What I did was when virtualizing the application I specified "C:\PROGRAMFILES\WinZip" for installing my application then at the end after stop monitering .lauching the application saved the application to Q drive , its working now . by the way after sequencing the application when Your are trying to launch the application . It will pop-up a window showing winzip must be associated with zip and zipx file . so to suppress that pop-up add a registry hive in the virtual registry .hkcu\%SFT-SID%\SOFTWARE\NICO MAK COMPUTING\WINZIP\WINZIP in that set AssocMsgExe to 0. if it is not there create one.It will suppress the pop up window.

Can you open INST.bat and see what are the contents?

I work for a company called App-DNA that makes an automated testing software platform called AppTitude.

What version of the sequencer are you using? I just tried to replicate the issue you were having and AppTitude spit out the following -

"When upgrading a package from 4.2, you might experience issues relating to a mismatch of Windows Installer system files that were included by default in 4.2 and the Windows Installer libraries locally installed on your Sequencing workstation. The following files are located in CSIDL_SYSTEM\:cabinet.dll,msi.dll,msiexec.exe,msihnd.dll,msimsg.dll. Functionality testing is required to determine if any functionality is broken. If testing fails, it will be necessary to delete all of the preceding files from the package. Delete the mappings on the VFS tab as well as the actual files in the CSIDL_SYSTEM folder in your decode path."

It sounds as though testing failed for you, so delete those files from the SFT.

It takes a few minutes per app to see what issues and resolutions there might be before even sequencing. Let me know if that ends up solving the issue or if you want more information about AppTitude. You can also check out - http://www.app-dna.com .

WinZip 14 won't run if installed to non-default path

If WinZip 14 is installed to a non-default location, the program won't run.

Install WinZip 14 (8688) on Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit, and select a non-default install path. I used c:\Program Files\WinZip, rather than the default c:\Program Files (x86)\WinZip.

Installation completes without error, but afterward WinZip fails to run with the error: "Unable to install over the MSI version of the installation Please obtain the MSI version or uninstall WinZip first."

I figured out the prbm ........Instead of installing the batch file to Q drive install it to the default path .Then at the end we can save the application to Q drive . The problem sorted out.

There is one more issue with the winzip . when you launch it in the client machine a pop up window will show up.........to suppress it add a registry key in machine\software\nico mak computing\winzip\winzip Set registry key AssocMsgExe to 0 The pop up window gets suppressed

eriserno : Sir we are also using APPDNA for apptitude testing .But for the past two weeks we had an issue with AppDNA and we are waiting for it to be fixed.........Thanks for you reply

@Mallikarjun, I believe Winzip is a 32bit installer and it should get installed only in C:\Program Files(x86) if you change it to C:\program files\winzip it will not work unless there is a winzip 64bit supporting installer.
