Virusscan 8.0i deploy using GPO
I am trying to deploy VirusScan 8.0i to my windows clients using Group policy. Most of my systems already have Virusscan 7.1 running. When i try this on XP testing computer which already has 7.1 it takes 1hour to deploy .
ANY suggestions on how to deploy 8.0i using Group policy will be appreciated.
DID ANYBODY TRY THIS ALREADY IN YOUR NETWORK?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi,
I used the NAI Custom Installation thingy program and everything worked fine.
I'm using a mix of 2k and XP clients that already had 7.1 installed and didn't have any problems deploying...
However, several of the 2k computers decided to have corrupt IE about boxes and corrupted Add/Remove programs that I traced to the VS install... Not sure why that happened but I had to rebuild the affected systems and then installed 8 manually. I did let VS upgrade over the top instead of uninstalling as I thought it could handle it, obviously not!

console,
I also used the NAI Custom install Designer to make my MSI pakage. There is no problem with the package as such as it works fine .
when i deploy the virusscan 8.0i on a computer which doesnot have any previously installed antivirus programs the install using GPO of virusscan 8.0i takes just 5 minutes.
When i deploy the same package on a computer which has virusscan 7.1 running using GPO it takes 1 hour and the install is succesful but my concern is how to reduce the deployment time to something reasonable .In the background the 8.0i package is actually uninstalling the older verson and installing the new version .
Looking at your post it seems that you are succesful in deploying in a shorter time. Can you either give me an idea as to how you deployed it .If you could give me your number i would really appreciate it that way i would like to talk to you regarding your deployment in more detail. Please mail me at gidituri_ravi1@hotmail.com
Thank you for your time.
