VMWare Player 4.0.2

We have installed the extracted MSI from VMware-player-4.0.2-591240.exe but on trying to creat then open a new XP virtual machine we get an error:

Unable to open kernel device "\\.\VMCIDev\VMX":Overlapped I/O operation in progress. Did you reboot after Installing VMWare Player?

Module devicepoweron power on failed.

Has anyone any ideas? We had done a reboot after installing via the msi.
