i want to know the steps involved in application packaging testing. as i am a fresher to this field.

These are the stages of the application packaging life-cycle:
- Package request
- Technical Evaluation of the Source
- Packaging
- Capture
- Editing
- Testing
- Quality Assurance (QA)
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

You can just do the basic testing of the application by installation/uninstallation, check ICE errors, Launch of application, comparing functionality with the source.
Leave the rest to the QA person. Let him handle some testing for you. Learn from the errors you get by QA.
