What is the best practice for taking an image using KACE of a brand new out of the box laptop?
I would like to take an image of the shipped laptop and also be able to deploy that image back to the laptop if needed in the future.

If you just want an exact image, you can just use the KACE imaging tools to upload it. Boot it with PXE to connect to the K2K, and choose to upload the image.
If you want more of a gold master that you could deploy to any hardware, you will want to sysprep the machine first, and capture it in between the sysprep and reboot. If you need more details, let us know.
