What makes the identity of an msi package (office 2003) ?
hi,
i'm actually working on office 2003. It was already deployed and now i want to make a change in this package.
The new package is a copy of the previous and i changed the product code, the version number and added the previous package for uninstall in the upgrade table. By changing the product code i hoped that the new package would uninstall the existing, but on install it recognizes itself as the same package that is already installed.
So my question. What is making the identity of an package ?
How can modify the new package so, that it behaves as a new package and not as the same ?
