What to do with Nero 6.6.0.16 registry entries
Hello packagers,
I just made a msi of nero 6.6.0.16 I have 2 questions.
Question 1:
There are some registry entries that i dont trust. The keys are:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\.......
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\9.0\Registration.....
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\.........
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Microsoft\Multimedia\............
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\windows media\.......
I think i can delete these but just want to know for sure.
And question number 2:
What to do with the driver that comes with nero. Just leave it in the installation or should i use the dpinst?

Hi Sejacru,
From the very first look , it seems that these reg entries have nothing to do with nero .
However you should double check this by trying the following :
1) check for these registry entries on vanilla packaging machine
2) Install your application and check the difference
3) Launch theshortcuts and check the difference
For above observations :
Keep these reg entries only for case 2)
for the driver if you have taken a snapshot , this should not be a problem .
Cheers ,
V
