Why won't the K1000 deploy MS Office 2010 Pro Plus 32 bit?
I have used OCT to configure the options I want to use and ziped the whole package and loaded it to our K-box. I have associated it and prepped a managed install, but when my test computer receives the message that the install is taking place, it fails to install the Office suite. I have set the run command to run setup.exe /i as it is pulling from a .zip. I have even tried setup.exe /adminfile <filename>.msp and it still fails to install on my test machine. Am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thank you!

Make sure you check the box for "do not prepend msiexec". Also, make sure that your zip file has setup.exe at the root of the zip file.
Past that, enable debug and it may give you some further clues.
How to enable debug for Windows (5.3/5.4 agent):
1. To automatically set debug through a script:
Scripting>K1000 Agent Debug Log Enable (Windows)
Add the machine(s) you want to enable debug on to "Limit Deployment To Listed Machines:" and click "Run Now".
2. How to manually set debug:
• Open a cmd window.
• cd c:\Program Files (x86 if 64 bit)\Dell\KACE
• Execute: AMPTools.exe debug=true
• Execute: AMPTools.exe (to restart AMP)
To find the .log and .txt files that are used to debug a system:
WinXP C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Dell\Kace
or
Win7 C:\Programdata\Dell\KACE

I just noticed this in the kdepoly log:
PreprocessPackage:ERROR: must use a 'manually configured' installation command if MI is a zip file: C:\ProgramData\Dell\KACE\downloads\813\Microsoft_Office_2010_Pro_Plus_32_bit.zip. Trying to handle if .msi...

Did anyone find a resolution to this? I have the exact same issue. Used OCT to create a msp. Zipped all the files with setup.exe in the root folder. Loaded into the K Box 1000. The package will not launch. Verified the zip folder is working by executing the setup.exe from within the zip file and Office installs fine. Why wont the K1000 box not install Office 2010 32 bit?? Even set the command line to manual : setup.exe still will not execute. - CEads 11 years ago

Is your install larger then 2 gigs?

My installer is 665MB - itguy61 11 years ago

I had made the mistake of zipping up the folder of the Office 2010 installation instead of zipping the files INSIDE of the folder & had a similar error in my log. This caused the setup.exe command to fail because the actual setup.exe was actually 1 folder deeper.
Double check your zip and make sure the installation files are not within another folder within the zip? - MarkHolman 11 years ago
