Windows Sync breaks after installing application
Hello,
After I install the application OnDemand Developer V8.7.5 Workstation(US English) and restart the machine the sync function from windows vista does not work anymore (i tried to sync with a folder form a server but the error for each file is "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.").
The application only writes on the machine a shortcut, a icon, and some registry.
The problem is that even after the application is uninstalled the sync function does not work.
Did anyone encountered this problem before ?
Thank you.

I did that. Unfortunately i did not save the results of the procmon. (i did a arm scan and a snapshot with admin studio 8)
Also for this project i work on a remote machine and i'll have to wait until a clean image is installed on that machine.
I tried google and the I found this http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/whssoftware/thread/d2f8e8bf-e569-414e-86a6-6696ee4c45e5
So I thought that i should ask here.
This site is one of the best resources for any packager, ... and google .
PS: After i get a new machine i'll do a snapshot and arm before and after the reboot. I forgot to mention that the sync works fine before rebooting the machine.

For application start-up issues, you really are best off with using a Process Monitor, since no-one can exactly duplicate your environment. I won't go into detail but do you have IE7 or IE8? Are you installing on a machine which contains Office? Which version? We could go on all day but you get the idea...
Run ProcMon and filter out processes you don't need to monitor, e.g. anti-virus, explorer.exe, your VM processes, etc., etc. I also filter out "errors" which I expect, such as where fast I/O is denied. Turn off the profiling, thread stuff, etc. Generally, I'll watch only file and registry activity. As soon as that error pops up, stop monitoring. Somewhere near the bottom of the output window the culprit will be shown. You're looking for 'ACCESS DENIED', "NAME NOT FOUND", something like that.
