WPS 8 repackage huge install

Hi,

Currently I am repackaging a new software installation containing about 40.000 files. Adding the files to WPS 8 and making adjustments to it takes huge amounts of time.

Are there any options to speed up the process?

Have you considered setting your build options to use external uncompressed files rather that compiling to an internal or external CAB ?

You could do this while developing/adjusting your package and you may find compilations are quicker. Once you have completed the package development, you could set the compression option you want and do a final (and lengthy) compilation.

It's been a while since I last used WPS, but there used to be options called ExpressBuild and QuickCompile. If these are options are still around in WPS 8, you might want to try these out (unless you have already).

Quick Compile should always be off if you're making lots of edits to a file, as it is known to cause issues. Little things like emptying tables...

Also, it seems obvious but if you have WPS's automatic back-up on (as I do) you effectively get two compilations, Wise being that dumb that it can't simply copy the existing file to a backup before doing the actual compile.
