WS_FTP Pro 2006 how to build MSI

hi you all,

im trying to make a MSI package of WS_FTP Professional 2006. The packaging Process is completed successfully. and its also installable. but if i want to start the program itself, there appear some errors from a tool Aladdin and the programm wont start. So can somone say me how to get WS_FTP work? has anyone made a MSI package?

Thanks for helping me!

Willcee,

I just packaged WS_FTP Pro 2006, it was a simple setup capture. I haven't cleaned up the package but I am able to open the application with no problems. Can you be more specific with the errors you are encountering? What type of error codes?

urban_diver,

thanks for response, but do you have entered the Key in the Package?? or do you have build a MSI from the Trial version, so that you must enter the Key after the install is complete?

that would help, to send you the right snapshot of the error, because im tried both methods.

thanks a lot

I packaged the trial version, but I really don't think that makes a differance. Send me a screen shot of the error.

i also packaged the trial version, but if i start the WS_FTP for the first time with normal user rights, the following error appears:

With local admin rights, the program will run? i dont know if there are some permissions to set? do anybody knows that?

Hi,

Let me guess...
If U install the source as it is and launch it for the first time, U will be asked to enter the Activation Code, once it is done. The application will work fine. That means it is trying to create some files under "Application Data" folder and create some HKCU, HKCR, HKLM Keys...

Bye
