XMLLite

Hi all, I'm trying to install WindowsXP-KB915865-v11-x86-ENU.exe (xmlLite) as a post-install job in Visio 2007. The problem is that it starts in full UI, even though I give it the documented silent switches, /quiet /noreboot

Has anybody else seen this behavior?

Solution or workaround? ......

thanks!

Good idea but No, this doesn't seem to operate like a regular office patch, there is not an option to expand it and ohotfix isn't in this product

Hi Owen,
this seems odd to me. Did install this update quite a few times and have never seen this behavior.
Have you tried with the /quiet /passive switches together?

Hi Nick, the problem only comes when running it as a post install job silently within office 2007. Have you done this?

Thanks

I have the same problem, arguments do not work in the "Add installations and run programs" section of the OCT.

Heya sir!

Don't know if you still have this problem, but I remembered doing mine not too long ago. I install XML Lite also, but not inside the Visio setup. The reason for this is since we support a dual language OS environment, I needed to install XML Lite for the same language that Windows was installed, so my command file has a test inside it. Anyway, the command line I use is:

"%~dp0visio2007sp1-kb937155-fullfile-en-us.exe" /quiet /passive /norestart

Have you tried running it outside Visio's setup and see if it works? If so, you could consider using this solution instead.

Hope it helps,
Regards,

Stephane
