Administrator instructions
If you are a system administrator, you can automate the Digital Editions installation from the
command line. You must have administrative privileges or are able to validate as an administrator.
Choose from the following options below. Note that commands are case sensitive.
/NCRC
disables the CRC check.
/S runs the installer or uninstaller silently, without the wizard. In this case, Digital Editions
does not start after the installation. If you run the installer in silent mode, be sure that
neither the Digital Editions software nor another instance of the Digital Editions installer is
running. Otherwise, the installer will silently fail and return a non-zero exit code.
In silent mode, the installer exit code determines whether installation was successful: zero means
successful, non-zero means unsuccessful.
/LAUNCH forces the installer to start Digital Editions after the installation, even in silent mode.
/D sets the default installation directory ($INSTDIR). This command overrides InstallDir and
InstallDirRegKey. /D must be the last parameter used in the command line and must not contain any
quotes, even if the path contains spaces. Only absolute paths are supported.
_?= sets $INSTDIR. This option also stops the uninstaller from copying itself to the temporary
directory and running from that directory. You can use _?= with ExecWait to wait for the
uninstaller to finish. _?= must be the last parameter used in the command line and must not contain
any quotes, even if the path contains spaces.
Examples installer.exe /NCRC installer.exe /S
installer.exe /NCRC /S /D=C:\Program Files\NSIS
uninstaller.exe /S _?=C: \Program Files\NSIS
installer.exe /NCRC /S /D=C:\Program Files\N
uninstaller.exe /S _?=C: \Program Files\NSIS
