Note
Autodesk DWG TrueView 2013 error when Deploying via Group Policy Autodesk has changed the MSI-based deployment for DWG TrueView so that it fails. Specifically: Event ID: 10005 Source: MsiInstaller Description: Product: DWG TrueView 2013 -- Run Setup.exe to install DWG TrueView 2013. Resolution: Edit dwgviewr.msi with Orca. There is a line in the Section "LaunchCondition" Condition: ADSK_SETUP_EXE="1" OR ACAD_SECONDARY_INSTALL="1" OR PATCH Description: Run Setup.exe to install [ProductName]. Create a Transform to remove this condition check. Transform - New Transform Right-click on the row with the Condition listed above - Drop Row - OK Transform - Generate Transform I called mine DontRunSetup.mst; a copy is available for download at http://www.barbarianhamster.com/Services/DontRunSetup.zip The same transform works for both the x86 and x64 versions of the software.

Virtualization
As always Autodesk DWG Trueview maintains settings within Local settings\Application data, which is per default excluded from capturing of App-v and causes errors when deployed. Remove exclusion and all works just fine....

Command Line

To install DWG Trueview MSI (dwgviewr.msi) without creating a MST file or make use of the Setup.exe just call the MSI with the parameter: ADSK_SETUP_EXE=1.

This will disable the LaunchCondition 'ADSK_SETUP_EXE="1" OR ACAD_SECONDARY_INSTALL="1" OR PATCH'

Be aware, that you still have to install all the prerequisites before installing the MSI to the machine. Otherwise you can disable the .NET check with the help of the public properties within the msi.
