This is the same principle as PaintShop Pro X4.

Create yourself a deployment point.  Download PSPX5_SP1.EXE, extract with UniExtract and then run the patch subfolder setup.exe /admin to apply to your deployment point.  There may be an easier way to extact the patch but I couldn't get it to work.

In the deployment point edit the setup.xml changing the following lines:

<Property name="AcceptLicense" value="1" /> changed to 1

<Property name="SHOWSERIALDIALOG" value="false" comment="true will show the serial number dialog, false will skip it" /> changed to false

<Property name="SERIALNUMBER" value="YOUR-SERIAL-NUM-HERE" persist="1" comment="When you remove the hardcoded serial number, just set the value to blank, do not remove this node or the SERIALNUMBER will not be saved after you perform an admin install" /> inserted serial number

<Property name="ALLOW_PRODUCTUPDATES" value="0" persist="1" comment="needs to be saved from admin installs, Script.dll will default it off if we are running an admin setup" /> changed to 0

Use the following line in your deployment system:

\\PATH\TO\COREL\CorelPSProX5\setup.exe /PASSIVE /ALLUSERS=1 /QN

To uninstall use the following line:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X5\Setup\{1563C6F2-E9B5-42DE-9EA6-207C9A8C2DFB}\setup.exe" REMOVE=ALL REMOVEUSEFILES=1 /QB-

  • Hi There,

Thanks for this, quick question we have a copy of the legit disc here. Where would I find the setup.exe to run /admin against?

The setup.exe in the root is not working with that flag. - cdalley 11 years ago
  • Hi,
you will find a deployment guide here:
    http://corel.force.com/index/articles/en_US/Master_Article/PaintShop-Pro-X5-Network-Deployment
Here it tells you to extract the ISO or copy the CD/DVD contents and then run the setup.exe from the root of the extracted folder. We get a .zip file from Corel.
You run the setup.exe /a command with the original version before then downloading the patches, uniextracting them and then running setup.exe /a for each of them. The patches prompt you where your server image is to apply the updates.
I expect your setup.exe is on the root of the disc. - csjjpm 11 years ago
