We were able to create a Silent install of WinZip 14 by doing this: Create a .MST for your winzip140.msi. then, edit your .MST as follows:

Modify the INSTALLCMD property to equal this:

/noqp /notip /noc4u /nopredefinedjobs /nojobrunprompt /autoinstallrun

Create (or modify) the following properties and set each to 0 (zero)

ADDDESKTOPICON=0
ADDMENUGROUP=0
ADDSTARTMENU=0

This installs and does not put any icons on your machine and it will supress the dialog asking you if you want a "Custom" or "Wizard" install that appears at the end of the install.

We were then able to deploy this to our target PC's and it all worked.

Note
To install automatically via a Group Policy in AD,

Save Winzip.msi and wzmul reg file in INSTALL location - \\SERVER\SHARE\APP

I used Orca to open the winzip.msi file then i created a new transform file and edited the property table in the MSI file.

INSTALLCMD - /noqp /notip /noc4u /nopredefinedjobs /nojobrunprompt /autoinstall

USER_WZMUL_LOCATION - \\SERVER\SHARE\Winzip\14.5

DEFCOMPICK - Best
USAGEPICK - Usage_No
ADD_WZMUL - 1

Then generated the transform file and saved to the same INSTALL location.

Then i created a GPO using the computer configuration settings pointed to the INSTALL location and applied the transform file as a modification.

I also filtered the GPO against domain computers group.

This worked a treat and applied the WZMUL file and asked no questions

Note

Since the instructions for network licensing using a winzip.wzmul file on the Winzip website didn't work for me, I instead put the license file in the all users\application data\winzip using a transform and changed the value of the ADD_WZMUL property from 0 to 1.

Another property worth changing is RUNWINZIP which is set to 1 by default but by setting it to 0, you can prevent Winzip from opening up upon completion of the installation.

I wanted to deploy WINZIP14.5 using Zenworks 7. I was happy with desktop/startmenu shortcut. I created a transform to deliver our corporate license file into the application. I created an object to run msiexec.exe with the following command line.

/i "X:\Winzip_14_5\winzip145.msi" TRANSFORMS="X:\Winzip_14_5\winzip145.mst" /qn INSTALLCMD="/noc4u /notip /autoinstall"

The INSTALLCMD options meant that there would be no check for application updates, no quicktips, or launch first time options following instalation.

I have rolled out to 1500 users+ using this method.

For uninstalling silently, use the following:

msiexec /x{CD95F661-A5C4-44F5-A6AA-ECDD91C240BD} /qn

To further add on to this, if you want to surpress the website launch afterwards:

msiexec /x{CD95F661-A5C4-44F5-A6AA-ECDD91C240BD} /qn SHOW_WEBPAGE=0

Tested and works.
