Before attempting to use the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Administrator Deployment Guide, you should be aware that as at 18/10/2007, there are a number of errors in the guide. Also, if you are looking for a quick and easy way to deploy the 'Windows Imaging Component' and 'XML Paper Specification Shared Components Pack 1.0' prerequisites, for which no MSI package is provided, it is possible to use the Microsoft XML Paper Specification Essentials Pack MSI package, which *does* include these updates. This MSI will install the necessary WIC and XPSEPSC updates as part of the installation. Unfortunately it will also create desktop and start menu shortcuts (which cannot be easily removed from the MSI), but that is the price of convenience!
