Add time field to kbox helpdesk ticket
I want to add another time field similar to the due_date field and the only custom fields I could add were text or select. Am I missing something or is this a limitation?

You've run into a limitation. I've contacted KACE about this, because I'd like to have the ability to use many other data types as custom fields - there is an existing enhancement request for this, and you can submit a support ticket to add your name to the list.
For the time being, you can use a text field and write a custom help desk rule to verify that data entered into the field is in date format. I'm setting something like this up on our KBOX to send email reminders based on an entered date.
