Auto-Archiving Questions

Greetings,

I enabled Auto-Archiving of inventory today for our organization. The action should take place on any item MIA greater than 90 days. A few questions.

1) When does the auto-archive take place, and how long should this take? I would say the list is relatively big, but nothing this action wont be able to handle.
2) Where can I access the archived items?

Thanks,

Nick

  • It appears under MIA settings you can set it to Archive Assets and Devices or just Assets.
Question: does it archive the total record, can we still access the data (how/where), will the machine Un-Archive if it checks back in at a later date?

1. it takes place during the nightly maintenance tasks. Depending on your archival settings they are marked (the zipper) for up to 7 days or archived directly.
2. Only the inventory items are archived. The assets itself are preserved.

  • Thank you. Can you tell me how to access the list of archived items? I can't seem to locate it. - nicholas.vardis 7 years ago
    • Nevermind. It looks like the archive never actually ran. I did the 'Advanced Search" and searched for Archived items, but nothing displayed. - nicholas.vardis 7 years ago
