Can't deploy image on a DELL XPS 13 9365 All-in-one (legacy mode)
Hello,
I'm trying to deploy an image on a brand new DELL XPS 13 9365 but so far it doesn't work.
I change the BIOS settings from UEFI to Legacy (turned off secure boot, etc...) i can see that the laptop is booting on the kace Interface (icn choose the KBE) but then the screen turns black and nothing happens.
Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong ?

I'd echo SMal's answer - if in doubt, or the network's throwing some wobbly, I always resort to imaging from a USB. There are some good instructions on how to create one of those here : http://www.itninja.com/blog/view/deploying-images-from-usb-devices-with-the-kace-2000
It's also important to note (it's not obvious in any official documents that I remember) that if you create a USB with only the boot environment on it (and not an image) you can boot to the USB but it then 'shortcuts' you to the K2000/SDA appliance if you have network connected - whenever I'm having issues with network drivers etc. that normally gets me out of dodge as the boot environment always seems to work for me.
Hello,
Sorry for my late asnwer.
Basically my problem is that until now we were using legacy mode. we havereceived 50 Dell Optiplex 3060 and i can't connect to the SDA in Legacy mode. Considering my images have been donne for "legacy mode" i can't deploy it on wokstation using UEFI.
Does it means i'll have to make a brand new image or is there a way to make my image works on UEFI?

No, you can convert your legacy MBR BIOS based image to the new UEFI GPT standard by using a utlity called mbr2gpt.exe. This utility is included in the 1703 update on every Windows 10 device. After the conversion, I was able to sysprep and capture the new UEFI image however I had to use a powershell command to decrypt the drive before sysprep would work. I'm not sure if the conversion caused encryption or not. Also, you can convert a legacy image to UEFI using diskpart, but it's a longer process. - mckenneyj 5 years ago
Thanks everyone for your answer. Things are getting clearer now.
Anyway, i Don't know if it's right or not but this is what i did and it seems to work.
I duplicated my reference images on the K2000 to be sure to not break anything.
I updates my Appliance to the last version who makes appear two new pre install and midlevel BIOS/UEFI task.
on my duplicated images, i remove the "created MBR", etc..; task and used the new ones.
I createdan KBE USB key to be able to boot on the Appliance in UEFI mode and deploy the image.
My last question will be: is there a way to directly PXE boot on the Appliance in UEFI mode or is the USB key absolutly necessary?
