Cant open Virtual drive if LOCAL INTERACTION is enabled (App-V 4.6)

hello

There is some strange i have observed. If the LOCAL INTERACTION is False then i can access the files from the Virtual Drive configured (using the sfttray comands), however for the same shortcut if i enable the LOCAL INTERACTION i can access the files, clicking on the Virtual Drive gives error "Access denied".

Is this something known/ any way to tackle this?

Thanks in advance

I think you have the wrong end of the stick. LOCAL INTERACTION set to TRUE allows the bubble to interact with with the local system (outside of the bubble). This setting exposes the COM objects in the global space rather than stuck in the bubble.

Its not for you to access the Q drive etc.

  • yes.. i do have an idea about the COM objecs. But supposedly if there is a single shortcut in the application with Local Interaction enabled, how am i supposed to check the files, the explorer does not open up (gives access denied on Q:\) - Sujit J 11 years ago
    • Ohhh, if its one off check for debugging etc, use this
      http://andrewmorgan.ie/2011/09/05/app-v-launcher-an-application-to-quickly-troubleshoot-in-the-app-v-bubble/

Launch the app with CMD, then just start explorer.exe, this will allow you to view the Q drive. - rileyz 11 years ago
