client share, cannot delete exported resources

I recently exported resources to the local SAMBA share on the kbox (Settings, Resources, Export KBOX Resources). They were accessible via the \\<kbox>\client share, so i copied all of the generated kpkg files to my local computer. When i attempt to delete these files from the \\<kbox>\client share, it denies the delete because of a permission error. I am connected to the share as the fileshare admin user (i made several re-connections just to make sure, reset the password, even tried the web admin user but no go). I am unable to modify the permissions on these files. The owner is listed as "Org 1 User (K1000\admin)" but the owner does not have rights to change permissions on the file. Next, i tried to connect via SSH and FTP using both PuTTY and WinSCP as admin user (both file share and web admin), but it keeps throwing "access denied". SSH is enabled, and kbox was rebooted.

So, two questions:
1. How can i delete these files?
2. Why am i unable to access the box via SSH with the admin user and password?

Hi,

Sorry to revive this old post but did you find a way to get into the box directly via SSH?

I have the same problem here. I tried with my "admin" account and it is not working.

Thanks

I am having the same problem with SSH.  I can not get logged in.  Connect fine but access denied.  If you have figured it out, please share or tell me what bone headed thing I am not getting.  Thanks.

You have to connect to the share's other name as admin: \\<kbox>\clientdrop

Often that won't work as a UNC path trying to connect with different credentials so it is more reliable to temporarily map a drive letter to that path.

already attempted mapped drive and direct UNC path many times before original post, following that exact KB article... while i could connect, it would not allow me to delete...

the permissions assigned to the admin user for all of the *.kpkg files were Read and Write ONLY (Delete permissions are not grated to the admin user). In addition, i am unable to adjust the permissions on said files so i was looking for a way into the box directly via SSH, but again, that allows me to connect but i am unable to login with any of the users that i was able to configure via the console configuration screen or the web admin screen.

one other item of note, this is the \\<kbox>\client shared folder, NOT the \\<kbox>\clientdrop folder

They are the same share! You connect to clientdrop with admin credentials to modify client.

Doh! I feel so silly now.... thank you so much Rich!

I hadn't been using the client share at all before this export resources task; my k1000 agent is pushed during deployment from the k2000.
