Comparing Computers and Software
Hello
I am trying to compare computers I put in a smart label against software listed in kace. When I was creating the smart label - I noticed that the filter results are immediate and bypass the check in. I want to know the MySql coding behind that - I don't like waiting for all the computers to check in...anways, most of the computers are checked in and am now a bit stuck.
Here is my smart label syntax which works for me;
We are strictly a Dell shop and only order two types of models for desktops and laptops. Out of all the computers in this label I need to figure out how many computers has a specfic software installed on it. How should I proceed with this?

You should be able to perform an advanced search to find computers with the model(s) you're looking for and have the software title installed.
Also, GillySpy posted a trick to "pre-populate" a smart label by performing an advanced search, then applying a new label to the results, then creating a smart label to add future machines to the label. You could still do that my deleting your smart label and performing the advanced search for your computer models.
Out of curiousity, if you only order Dell Optiplex and Latitudes, then wouldn't that smart label match all of your computers?

Thanks for the quick reply. To answer you curious question; our organization only orders these types of computers. We have some personal computers with the agent installed and we are trying to differentiate those as well...
I'll have to give the "pre-populate" thing a shot and play with the advanced search...

I've been trying the advanced search while viewing only my smart label. With my results I seem to be getting mixed numbers. Adobe Acrobat has many versions that Kace seems to be having a hard time seeing. What is the best practice for this? Is Kace the answer to compare computers and software on them?
